What makes you different to other separation and divorce services?

3

It’s not just what we do - it’s how we do it that sets us apart. Danielle Black Coaching is not a mediation service, a legal practice, or a generic separation, divorce or “co-parenting” course or program.

We specialise in child-focused, evidence-based post-separation parenting support, particularly where dynamics are complex, high-conflict, or unsafe.

Our work is grounded in contemporary research on child development, attachment, family violence (including post-separation abuse and coercive control), and the realities of the family law system. This allows us to support parents to make defensible, developmentally informed decisions - rather than simply encouraging compromise or “equal time” arrangements regardless of a child’s age or developmental needs.

Key points of difference include:

We are child-centred, not conflict-neutral
Many separation and divorce services focus on resolving adult disputes and encouraging “cooperation” - regardless of risk. Our focus is on what our clients and their children need to be safe, stable, and supported - especially when parental conflict, power imbalances, or harmful dynamics are present.

We work within complexity, not around it
We regularly support parents navigating supervised or no-contact arrangements, child refusal dynamics, neurodivergence, substance misuse, relocation, and entrenched court proceedings. These are situations that many services are not equipped to address safely or effectively.

We are evidence-based and strategy-informed
Our coaching is grounded in research, not opinion or ideology. We help clients understand how child development, family dynamics, and legal processes intersect, so they can advocate effectively and make decisions that stand up to scrutiny.

We are not one-size-fits-all
All coaching sits within the Post-Separation Parenting Blueprint™ and our broader framework, but support is tailored to the individual family, stage of separation, and level of complexity. We do not apply generic templates or scripts without context.

We understand the family law system - without being part of it
While we do not provide legal advice, we are highly familiar with family law processes, reports, and court expectations. This allows us to support clients to engage with the system more clearly, confidently, and strategically.

We prioritise sustainability and wellbeing
We help parents move out of crisis-driven decision-making and into grounded, sustainable parenting - protecting not only their children, but also their own emotional and mental wellbeing.

Danielle Black Coaching exists for parents who want more than false reassurance or surface-level cookie-cutter advice. We support those who want clarity, depth, and evidence-based child-focused guidance as they navigate the realities of post-separation life.
